Grace Quote - Joyce Meyer - Eugene Seah Possibilities Revealed

What a powerful quote! Grace is the power of God that empowers us to go beyond our own ability, enabling us to do His will! And His grace is more than sufficient for us.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT)
Each time He said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

1 Year!

How time flies!! As of tomorrow, Grace and I would have been married for an entire year! I can still remember one year ago, on this day, my best men, Leon, Pan, Joshua and Titus were staying over at my house after Sunday Service has ended. As we were preparing for the wedding the next day, I was feeling so excited for what is to come! Also there were thoughts like what evil plans did the bridesmaids come up with, how will everything turn out, will it all be smooth, etc. That feeling was so exciting and joyous!

When we woke up, it was about 6am and we were ready to go!

Why Business?

Recently, as I began to interact with more people, even customers, most of them ask a very similar question, “Why go into business at such a young age?”

Well firstly, I am fortunate to have been born into a family where we love God and are in His blessings. Finances were never really a problem for me as a child. Even when my family was not very well-to-do when I was very young, God always came through and blessed us. There was never a day in my childhood that I was not able to get my favorite toy or eat my favorite food, as we were always faithful to God in everything in our lives including our finances, like in Malachi 3:10 (NLT) that says:  “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!” God’s blessings never ceased. Soon, my dad got a job with my granduncle in the jewellery trade and our finances had a major boost.

Over the years, my father got connections with his clients and also relationships with my granduncle and his other bosses and co-workers strengthened, and my dad had found favor with them. Then, as I grew up in church, Pastor How preached on sustainable idealism and how we are able to do good and do well in life. It is not an either or. A story from the bible that Pastor preached from this message was in Luke 10:25-37 – The good Samaritan. Many times when people read this story, they focus on how the priest and the levite ignored the man that was half dead and only the Samaritan did something. Here, Pastor shifted our focus to mainly how the Samaritan was able to do something. The Samaritan said: ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’ Whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you. This is so incredible. How many people can send a half dead man to the ICU and say do whatever is needed and when I come back after the operation, I will pay all? Or even at a moment when you feel lead by God to pack up everything you have and go into the missions, how will we sustain it? Upon graduation, a typical graduate’s pay is about $2600 to $3500. After working for 10 to 15 years, if everything goes well, the salary would probably increase to $7000 to $10,000? Then again would we be able to tell our bosses that we would want to go for a 3 months long mission trip? Or for the next few months we will want to be focused on serving in church and therefore would need a temporary break from work indefinitely? It will be so hard to have an idealistic life where we can do good and where it can be sustainable.

One of the best ways Pastors shared to go about doing this is to go into business, where we build a company and after it is stable, it will be self-sustaining, running on its own by its employees, only needing us to set aside time once in awhile to add inputs and improvements. Then, we can start to have the idealistic life that we want and with the business sustaining that idealistic life.

This leads me to the second reason. Thankfully, my father had connections in the jewellery trade with my granduncle and all, along with all our finances that built up over the years, setting up a jewellery business was no problem at all! Sure I know that starting up a business, aside from finances, there are many more aspects to look at and to overcome. The starting years will not be easy and risks have to be taken many a times. Then again, which route in life begins easy? Unlike another other business out there, I have a God that is for me! In faith, I believe that after these first few starting years, God will move and my business will flourish into a successful one. Rather than working hard for the first 10 years of my life then starting up my very own business and struggle again for the next few years to make that business successful, With the help of Pastor’s teachings and my leaders in church and my parents, I am blessed to be able to do so now at the age of 24.

I am striving to do both well and good in life. I believe that a person is able to build a successful business, without compromising on God, his/her family and church. It is never either or. It is both! Grace and I, we are determined to be a new generation of entrepreneurs. Ones that love God, loves people and loves life. Ones that are successful both in the business world, in family and in church. We are all called to greatness. And Grace and I, we choose to live a life by design not by default!

I believe that our future is gonna be amazing.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
– Jeremaiah 29:11

Amen and amen!!
